A Huthwaite catering firm has joined forces with one of the UK’s largest wholesalers in a new merger.  Food service provider Caterway has got off to a flying start in 2014 by confirming its entry to the Landmark Wholesale Group.  The merger was completed on 1st January.

Caterway has been based in Huthwaite since its inception in 1973 and also has depots in Leeds and Spain.  The company provides a broad range of frozen and ambient food products to the fast food and catering trade.  The Landmark Wholesale Group was formed in 1972 to provide a centralised Trading and Marketing operation on behalf of Independent Wholesalers.

Rob Atkinson, Managing Director, said: “It is a huge boost to our business to be joining Landmark Wholesale.  Being part of a group with a combined turnover of more than £3 billion will give us access to fantastic economies of scale as well as establishing us to supply the prestigious Caterers Kitchen and Lifestyle range of products.”

Mr Atkinson added: “I am delighted to be leading a locally based business to continued success.  We are looking forward to being part of this great group.  Its expertise, together with its excellent own brands will help us to achieve our business development aims.”

Martin Williams, Landmark Wholesale Managing Director, said: “Caterway is a long-established and very forward-thinking business and it will be a great addition to the group.”

Further details on Caterway can be found on their website.
