Ashfield District Council will be conducting a public consultation on the Local Plan Preferred Approach between 2nd February and 20th March, 2016.

The Plan has been guided and steered by a range of evidence base studies, to help ensure that a ‘sound’ Plan has been produced, as required by the Government. The Council believes the Plan presents a robust approach to guiding development across the District for the next 15 years.

Members of the public are encouraged to get involved in the consultation and to let the Council know if any of the evidence is incorrect and what they believe to be the better solution.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr. Don Davis said: “The Council is going to use a wide range of consultation methods to reach as many Ashfield residents as possible, including  Parish Council and Neighbourhood Forum presentations, both staffed and unstaffed exhibitions in libraries, council offices and halls, community group meetings and deposit points for written responses in council offices.

“We are particularly interested in hearing the views of young people, so the consultation will also be available through our social media networks. We also intend to engage directly with schools and the Youth Forum.”

The Local Plan Preferred Approach, Policies Map, the evidence base studies/documents and the draft Local Plan Sustainability Appraisal can be viewed on the Council’s website:

www.Ashfield-dc.gov.uk/localplan

A copy of the Local Plan can be also be viewed at local libraries and at the Council Offices in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Hucknall and Ashfield Homes Ltd at Sutton.
