Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC) recently secured over £2m of European Regional Developing Funding (ERDF) to manage and deliver the Transformational ICT – phase 2 (T-ICT2) services from 1 October 2013 to 30 June 2015.

The project is led by DNCC and delivered in partnership with Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce and Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce.  All eligible businesses in Ashfield and Mansfield can access this free support.

T-ICT2 will intensively assist 600 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) located in Priority Axis 2 (PA2) areas of the East Midlands region to exploit advanced technologies to transform their business processes. This will result in improved business competitiveness, productivity and ultimately deliver economic growth in the region.

This new service will build upon the recently completed phase one project which assisted over 1,200 SMEs through an events and workshop programme. T-ICT2 will deliver added services to the established portfolio of events and workshops to include grant and consultancy support.

From November 2013 to March 2015 it is anticipated that the following activities will be delivered:

Awareness-raising events

At least 90 two-hour awareness raising events will be delivered, with audiences expected of between 20 and 60 business delegates. Events will be delivered across the whole PA2 locations.

Awareness-raising events are delivered using a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation in a conference style setting, with delegates being provided with an electronic copy/link to the presentation slides.

The purpose of these events is to not only raise awareness of the subject matter but to actively promote the action planning workshop programme and provide an opportunity for delegates to participate in a Q&A session following the event presentation.

Action planning workshops

At least 440 action planning workshops will be delivered, with audiences expected of between eight to 15 business delegates.

Workshops are delivered in a boardroom style setting using a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation of case studies and demonstrating examples of best practice, with delegates being provided with a workbook consisting of presentation slides and narrative that is used throughout the workshop and allows for the recording of an action plan.
