Driving Growth: Support for the construction sector across Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire (Derby)

This breakfast event is aimed at Small to Medium Sized (SME) local construction-related companies.  It will provide information and support to enable you to identify future opportunities to drive forward and grow your business.

This free to attend* event is delivered in partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), working on behalf of construction employers, with Nottingham City Council City Region.  This is through a project called the JOINT INVESTMENT STRATEGY (JIS), promoting growth in the construction sector through local drivers and enablers. This has been developed as part of a national CITB programme to deliver joint investment plans within key cities around England.

On the day there will be information on the support provided by the JIS, as follows:

  • What future construction and infrastructure projects are being planned in the region
  • How to become better at accessing tender opportunities by supporting improved procurement practices
  • Up-skilling your workforce


  • Registration and refreshments
  • Welcome and introduction to the session – CITB
  • Joint Investment Strategy icon– Details of the funded support available through the project and achievements to date
  • Improving your procurement practices, winning new business, where to source opportunities – Silverlock
  • Case Study from a tier one construction procurer – What they look for, what are the main errors they see when scoring tenders – tbc
  • D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) – Details of their support for the construction sector including the D2N2 LEP Pipeline Analysis.  This will provide details of future construction and infrastructure projects
  • Close, networking, exhibition and refreshments

*This event is free of charge to attend for all construction related companies with a base in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, employing less than 250 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employees and from the following sectors:

  • General building trades
  • Single Glazing
  • Roofing
  • Scaffolding
  • Civils
  • Groundworks
  • Off-site construction
  • Contractors plant and tool hire

Please note: the content of this event aims to support the wider SME construction sector to develop and grow, however access to the funded training through the JIS is only available to those in scope CITB registered companies in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire
