Introduction to Evaluation Workshop

26 October, 2016, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Are you delivering funded projects or contracted services? Have you ever needed to prove the value and benefits that you deliver to your stakeholders – your clients and funders? This free workshop will guide you through the process and methodologies of designing and carrying out a robust evaluation.

Learning how to design and run a successful evaluation process will enable you to more effectively bid and tender for future work. Join us to ensure you will have the skills you’ll need to compete in an increasingly challenging business and funding landscape.

Professor Bruce Stafford and Dr Simon Roberts, (School of Sociology and Social Policy at The University of Nottingham), will guide you through the practical ways in which SMEs can harness the potential of Impact Evaluation.

This course will help you to identify:

Who benefits from our initiatives/services? Why are they successful? What value do they add? What can I do to boost the company’s performance?

The workshop will cover:

An overview of evaluation

  • Why do an evaluation? What are the benefits?

Approaches to evaluation and evaluation designs

  • Collecting, analysing and interpreting data
  • Designing an evaluation questionnaire

Signposting for onward options – following the workshop, a range of further support will be available, offering the chance to apply these practices to enable you to grow your business in key areas, such as the health and education sectors.
