Uni of Nottm: Global Business Communication

Linguistic Profiling can help you explore the hidden depths of communication styles in the workplace.  Did you know communicating effectively as a leader in the ever-changing global business world not only requires a versatile skills-set but this also needs to be creative, adaptable and frequently updated?  In short, this interactive workshop will encourage you to open up brand new possibilities for effective leadership performance.

What you will learn

  • How to enhance your leadership style
  • Ways to improve your verbal and non verbal communication skills
  • How to become a more reflective leader.  Creating the presence and impact that leaders strive for within their workplace cultures

Not only will you learn all these skills but this workshop is also conveniently located in room A35 of the Trent Building on the main University Park Campus.

Who should attend?

Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) based in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire.  This event is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020.  This event is classed as State Aid to participating businesses, the value of which is £379.  It is, however, delivered completely free of charge to participants.

What to expect

The workshop will focus on both verbal and non-verbal communication.  Moreover, it will  emphasise the significant role that non-verbal communication plays in communicating effectively and efficiently.

Workshop leaders

Professor Louise Mullany will lead this workshop.  She has spent the last 20 years researching and teaching gender and organisational communication in a wide range of businesses and organisations in the UK and globally, from SMEs through to large multinationals.

Louise will be joined by Dr Sarah GrandageSarah is an expert on examining the interface between language and performance, including body language and gesture in a range of different communicative contexts.
