Local Entrepreneur and AMbassador urges youngsters to #AimHigh

September 10, 2015 10:50 am

Katrina Atherton, founder of A-Star Media and AMbassador for Ashfield & Mansfield has been used as a case study by the Department for Communities and Local Government, urging young people to think about starting their own business.

Katrina started A-Star Media, a corporate film production company, with business partner John Starkie aged 20, and since that time the company has gone on to work with large organisations and small businesses across the country.

She said, ‘I do a lot of work locally to encourage young people to think about starting a business, so it’s great to be involved with a national campaign. Young people are full of new ideas, but it’s normally a lack of confidence that stops them having a go. I’d tell anyone, young or old, just go for it! No one will hold it against you for trying, and if you don’t succeed you’ve got the experience to go forward.’

You can get involved on social media with your own success stories, tweeting #AimHigh.

If you are interested in becoming an AMbassador and would like further information on the scheme, visit our AMbassador’s page. We are always keen to expand our membership; if you would like to find out more, get involved or make any suggestions, please contact us.
