Mansfield PR agency, Dakota Digital, has been awarded a £3,000 business growth grant, which has helped them with a move to their own town centre premises and facilitate the creation of two new jobs. Meanwhile, Pleasley-based bridal boutique, The Wedding HQ, has been given a helping hand with a £1,000 start-up grant.

Lauren Troman-Green, who runs The Wedding HQ with sister-in-law Suzie Troman-Green, said: “We’re so grateful for this financial boost. As with most businesses starting out, there are massive financial outlays to be made at the outset.

“We were faced with costs ranging from shop fixtures to the purchase of our extensive wedding gown collections and design of our website.”

The Business Start Up grant of up to £1,000 is available to people who are looking to set up a business.  The grant can be used towards start-up costs including the purchase of machinery and equipment, business stationery and marketing costs such as advertising and web design.

Lauren added: “The regeneration team has been brilliant from the very start. Trying to establish a new business is daunting and it’s hard to know where to start. The team not only helped us financially but also signposted us to all the right places.”

Dakota Digital was awarded with a Business Growth Grant, which is available to established businesses that can produce a viable growth plan. The grant can be used to support its growth plan and costs involved in implementing the plan.

The Business Growth Grant has helped Dakota Digital to finance their move from a business centre to their own dedicated town centre office on White Hart Street as well as expand their team with two new members.

Rebecca Appleton, Dakota Digital managing director, said: “I’m thrilled that we have been chosen to receive a business growth grant, which shows how well we are doing.

“It’s a real vote of confidence for our expansion. We had outgrown our old office with the addition of new staff so the support of the Business Growth Scheme has been really key.”

“In addition to the new jobs this grant will help us create, we also have a series of very exciting initiatives in the works including the launch of our free PR clinic for local businesses and no cost digital marketing drop-in centre based at our new town centre location.”

Cllr Dave Saunders, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, said: “We’re pleased that we’ve been able to support these growing companies as they go from strength to strength.

“It is always good to see success stories such as these. There are a number of sources of grant funding currently available across the Mansfield district and we would urge individuals and companies to get in touch with our dedicated team to talk through their business plans.”

Business grants are available across the Mansfield and Ashfield districts. To find out more check out our grants page.
