What support is out there for small businesses?

At a recent monthly after hours event, hosted by the Mansfield and Ashfield branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), in partnership with Mansfield 2020, Maria Lyle from the Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) delivered an informative presentation.  Maria provided the group with a complete breakdown of the funding opportunities available to local businesses.

You can download the presentation here: What support is out there for small businesses?  The presentation includes various different funding routes and options for numerous projects to suit most types of organisations.

A representative from Invest Ashfield & Mansfield informed the group of support available to small businesses. These include schemes such as the Ashfield and Mansfield Apprentice Grant for Employers (AGE), Grants to Support Business Innovation and Business Crime Reduction Scheme.

There are numerous other grants available for businesses and Invest Ashfield & Mansfield also offers a property search facility, which can help you find the right premises for your business.

If you are looking to hire a young person to work and support your business, Invest Ashfield & Mansfield also runs schemes that can help you access higher level skills through undergraduates and graduates.
