Ways into work at free events for jobseekers

October 16, 2013 2:52 pm

A series of free workshops are being held at libraries across Nottinghamshire over the next fortnight to help the unemployed.

Finding the right job, preparing the perfect CV and creating the right impression at an interview will be amongst the subjects covered at the events, organised by Nottinghamshire County Council.

The events are being held at the weekly work club sessions in local libraries. They are:

  • Thursday 17 October 2013 (10am-12noon): Job search workshop – Worksop Library, Memorial Avenue, Worksop
  • Wednesday 23 October 2013 (10am-12noon): CV workshop – Mansfield Library, Four Seasons Centre, Westgate, Mansfield
  • Thursday 24 October 2013 (10am-12noon): CV workshop – Newark Library, Beaumond Gardens, Baldertongate, Newark
  • Thursday 24 October 2013 (3.30pm-5.30pm): How to succeed at your next interview – Hucknall Library, South Street, Hucknall
  • Tuesday 29 October 2013 (1.30pm-3.30pm): How to succeed at your next interview – Arnold Library, Front Street, Arnold

All the events are free of charge and open to anyone currently looking for a job.  Works Clubs give people the chance to meet others looking for work, build new contacts, share job hunting experiences and get advice on job searches, job applications, interview techniques, CVs, volunteering and training opportunities.

In addition to the regular sessions, special events take place from time to time, including guest speakers from local employers and confidence building workshops.  There are eight work clubs based at libraries across Nottinghamshire.  Further information is available at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/workclubs or by calling  Denise Stephenson, Work Club Co-ordinator at Nottinghamshire County Council on 07775 588 756 or email denise.stephenson@nottscc.gov.uk
