A local Enterprise Agency is offering would be entrepreneurs the chance to win a £10,000 cash prize to get their venture off the ground. As well as an opportunity to win cash prize, all eligible entrants will receive a package of business support worth up to £5,000 and access to a grant of up to £2,500 when they start trading.

The NBV team is searching for ambitious individuals who are starting a new business in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire or Lincolnshire.

In addition, the finalists will be able to access further business support worth up to £1,000 including free company registration, 1 years free virtual tenancy and a half day use of the NBV Media Studio.

Business support will be provided via Start & Grow, a national programme which helps entrepreneurs develop their business idea with one to one advice and coaching from experienced business advisors.

NBV chief executive Richard Dearden said: “This award could make a massive difference to a local start-up. We are looking for businesses which meet our growth criteria, so they will need to be investing in their business and be creating jobs at an early stage”.

Entry to the competition is open to eligible businesses between now and 30th August 2016 and the winner will be announced in March of next year. In order to be eligible businesses should not have started trading yet.

Dearden added: “We are able to support all sizes of start-up but the focus of this Prize Fund and the Start & Grow programme is on those early stage businesses planning a larger investment and expecting to grow quickly through recruiting staff. I would encourage all interested clients to have a go and get your application in as soon as possible. If you need any more information please contact the NBV team”.
