Newly featured on Invest Ashfield & Mansfield’s events pages are local ACAS events, ranging from talks about holidays and holiday pay to essential skills for supervisors.

ACAS is the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service and their aim is to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations. ACAS does this through supplying up-to-date information, independent advice and high quality training, working with employers and employees to solve problems and improve performance.

Whether you’re an employer or an employee you can get free advice from the ACAS  website or by calling their telephone helpline 0300 123 1100. Employers might also be interested in their more specialised services, including training, workplace projects, conciliation and mediation.

ACAS also has free tools on their website to help your business including ten e-learning modules and their model workplace, a benchmarking-type tool to help you assess your business and identify issues.

Area Director, Kate Nowicki, said “We look forward to building great relationships with businesses.  We have an excellent team here at Acas East Midlands, focused on resolving disputes and offering expert help and practical advice and we look forward to being part of a like-minded community”.

For all the details on ACAS events check our events page which is regularly updated with business events held across the area. We also run a regular Entrepreneurs’ Forum which hosts seminars on business-related issues that can help your business.  To help promote the Ashfield and Mansfield area, and the businesses within it, we have also launched an AMbassadors’ programme which is open to all local businesses.
