AMbassadors’ launch hailed as a great success

The AMbassadors’ programme, which sets out to celebrate local businesses in Ashfield & Mansfield, was officially launched at Vision West Nottinghamshire College, Mansfield on Monday 9 December.

The Executive Mayor of Mansfield, Tony Egginton, and the Leader of Ashfield District Council, Cllr Chris Baron welcomed key business figures, while Olympian, Bryan Steel, hosted the event.

The launch included information about the Invest Ashfield & Mansfield project, followed by presentations from AMbassadors Katrina Atherton of A-Star Media and Martin Rigley of Lindhurst Engineering, who showcased their business successes, key challenges and development plans.

The presentations concluded with a whistle-stop tour of Ashfield & Mansfield presented by Corporate Director at Mansfield District Council, Bev Smith, who highlighted the many benefits available to businesses in the area.  The round the table discussions, which followed, helped to distil ideas around the future of the new AMbassadors’ initiative.

Invest Ashfield & Mansfield Project Manager, Alison North, said: “The launch received very positive feedback and provided valuable input for informing the further development of the AMbassadors’ programme and our aims to promote the area to a wider audience. We are eager to keep this positive momentum going; already around 70 AMbassadors have signed up for the programme.”
