Businesses moving into Ashfield and Mansfield

A growing national chain of neighbourhood café bars is coming to Mansfield, bringing a former bank building back to life.  Mansfield ARBA Group is currently refurbishing the former Lloyds Bank on Stockwell Gate for this growing company.

Loungers, which has more than 80 outlets nationwide, is due to open before summer 2017.  The company’s venues are described as informal neighbourhood café bars.  They are expected to bring an eclectic mix of reclaimed furniture, soft seating and a cosy environment.

Richard Burns, ARBA Group Director said: “This is fantastic news for Mansfield.  It shows that the town centre is a promising place to be where businesses want to be located.  Town centres have evolved over the years. Where once they were a place simply to shop, they are now a destination.  People can shop and take leisure time, meet for a coffee or enjoy a drink or food for much longer”.

He added: “Mansfield is truly on the up.  Confidence is high with recent news about Mansfield town centre regeneration and changes to the market layout.  In addition, the town’s Purple Flag accreditation and new touchscreen and digital technology are all really exciting”.

Sarah Nelson is Manager of Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID).  She said: “ARBA Group is a great example of a property investor that has seen an opportunity.  As a result, they have invested in a town centre building.  And helped to bring a new offering to the mix that we already have”.

Denis Hill is a heritage consultant, working on a number of projects for the BID.  Denis added: “It’s wonderful to see an old building being brought back to life. It ‘s really great to think it will be so full of life again soon”.

Red Kangaroo

Acting for Property Alliance Group, FHP has let substantial warehouse premises on Blenheim Industrial Estate to Red Kangaroo Trampoline Park.  Tim Gilbertson, acting jointly with Sean Bremner of CPP, brokered the deal.  This £1.6m investment will transform the 40,000ft² property into a trampoline park, creating more than 70 local jobs.

Tim Gilbertson commented: “This was a long-term deal where a change of use was required for the building.  Moreover, the tenants are to be applauded for their tenacity in ensuring that this consent was obtained.  The transaction was therefore able to proceed.

The location of the unit was ideal for Red Kangaroo, offering excellent transport links.  Furthermore, their investment will create substantial employment in the area.  Much more than would have been created by a standard warehouse operator.  We wish Red Kangaroo well and look forward to testing their trampolines shortly!”

Sean Bremner, Partner at CPP said: “Concluding this deal is a great result for our clients.  And it gives Red Kangaroo an excellent property for their operations, reinforcing a diversification pattern on some established commercial estates.  We wish them every success.”

Property Alliance Group’s Ian Hunter commented: “This property offered Red Kangaroo an ideal set-up opportunity in a prime location.  This forms part of its plans to roll out across the UK.  The building’s size, flexibility and close proximity to major transport links, meant it ticked all of the company’s boxes.  So this  will enable it to create a fantastic new venue offering huge benefits for the local community.”

Red Kangaroo Group’s owner , Paul Wrightman, commented: “We expect to start works shortly and open in June 2017.  Our huge trampoline parks offer lots of fun-based trampoline activities with a few new surprises too!  I am particularly excited about the job creation opportunities our park will attract.  And the healthy aspect of this leisure facility combining fun and exercise all in one!”
