Invest Ashfield & Mansfield - The area for growth

Spring has now well and truly sprung – and hopefully we all feel inspired and motivated to try a few different things as a result.  So here’s a few highlights of things that you really shouldn’t miss over the next few months.  Of course, there isn’t enough space here to provide a comprehensive list of everything on offer.  So we’d recommend that you continue to check our business events calendar and social media accounts on a regular basis.

Ashfield and Mansfield are listening

For a number of months now, the Executive Mayor has been offering an audience to Mansfield businesses.  Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 organise these sessions and also send out the invitations.  The next meeting is scheduled for Monday 14 May.  Each event has places for the first 18 people and last time it sold out within 24 hours.

Based on this success, Ashfield District Council is now offering an opportunity to meet the CEO.  Again 2020 are organising this with email invites going out shortly.  Indeed, the number of places are limited so be sure to act fast to secure yours.

Champagne marketing anyone?

On Tuesday 15 May, we are offering an event enticingly entitled “Champagne Marketing on a  Lemonade Budget”.  Of course, we aren’t actually offering alcohol, it’s more about doing more with less.

Often people consider marketing as something of a dark art.  Indeed, some businesses waste a lot of money on marketing that just doesn’t work for them.  In this practical and engaging seminar, experienced Marketing Consultant, Lindsey Newman-Wood will share some tricks of the trade.  And give you real-life examples on how to market your business on a shoestring budget but still get maximum impact.

The event will run from 9am to 12:30pm at the Civic Quarter and registrations are open now.  Not only is this event completely free to attend but ample free parking is immediately on hand and refreshments will also be provided throughout the morning.  Interested?  You can find out more on our business events calendar.

Future Business Leader Challenge

This is Vision West Nottinghamshire College’s business competition inspired by the Dragons’ Den TV series.  Hosted in the University Centre from 9:30am to 12:30pm on Friday 11 May.  Run by the students, for the students, they are looking for local businesses to support and attend the competition.  Interested?  You can find out more on our business events calendar.

Get in, Go far with Apprenticeships

On Wednesday 27 June, there is another informative and totally free event in Papplewick.  Running from 8:30am to 2pm, it’s an event for local businesses in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.  In summary, it will cover the following areas:

  • Discover the latest information on Apprenticeship Policy to support your business
  • Showcasing world-class apprenticeship systems – see how they do it in Germany and Canada
  • See how apprenticeships can future-proof skills in your business and increase productivity.

Interested?  You can find out more on our business events calendar.

Lots more on offer

This has just been a quick run-through of a few things on offer in the near future.  Consequently, it’s far from comprehensive.  So if you haven’t found something of interest, remember to check back to our business events calendar where new events are constantly being added.  Also, remember to subscribe to our electronic newsletters to ensure you are kept completely up-to-date with local news and offers.
