Enabling Innovation: Funded support through Nottingham Trent University

March 16, 2017 5:51 pm

Enabling Innovation – but what exactly does it mean to innovate?  The width of the definition might surprise you.  Basically, it covers the commercial exploitation of new ideas.   This may entail new products and processes, new organisational techniques, new markets and new sources of supply.  So this means that innovation can be new to the firm, new to the market or new to the world.  At the end of the day, it’s not all about high-tech labs and white coats.

Funded support

In fact, NTU’s new ERDF-funded programme covers a wide variety of areas to help your business both innovate and grow.    It’s been proven that those firms who innovate typically enjoy four times the sales growth of those who don’t.  Not only that, but the support on offer  from this programme is either subsidised or completely free.  What’s more, NTU is working in partnership with the University of Nottingham and University of Derby.  So that means there’s something in it for everyone.  Moreover there will usually be someone with the specialist knowledge to help.  Through NTU, you will be able to access 8 innovation hubs, their resources, expertise and facilities.

In addition, there is a small graduate talent grant for innovation projects.  This part of the programme provides up to 25% of a graduate’s salary working on an innovation project.  What’s more, there’s enough in the pot to help 180 companies.  Not only that, but the graduates themselves also benefit from working together too at specially organised workshops.  At the end of the day, it’s all about attracting, recruiting and retaining suitably qualified personnel to help your business.
