Enabling Innovation: Food & drink masterclass – product development (NPD) & outsourcing for SMEs

14 September, 2018, 9:00 am - 15 September, 2018, 5:00 pm

Nottingham Trent Uni logo

This FREE Food & Drink masterclass will focus on innovation, successful New Product Development (NPD) and production: in-house vs. outsourcing.

What’s on offer?

The food & drink industry is one of the fastest moving sectors and staying ahead is critical to your success.  Of course, innovation and NPD both play a key role in that. Throughout this masterclass there will be information and guidance on how you can (and must) incorporate innovation in to your business.

When you take the decision to either outsource production or manufacture yourself in-house, each comes with its own challenges.  Hear from experienced speakers giving their insights on both routes: helping you understand which may work best for you in your business.

This 2-day workshop is a packed full of top tips, know-how and practical knowledge so you will leave with a much clearer vision on what steps to take next in your food brand journey.

During this course you will learn:

  • What an effective NPD process looks like
  • Drivers for NPD & identifying trends to enable NPD
  • How SMEs and Challenger Brands can outsmart the Big Guys
  • Why some new products fail
  • In-house vs. outsourced: key decision making criteria and where to find manufacturing partners

Expert speaker

Claire Brumby is The Food Guide – a mentor, consultant and speaker who uses first-hand knowledge, experience and battle scars gained through founding her own multi-award winning premium snacking brand: Scrubby’s Vegetable Crisps.  Of course, she launched into a fiercely competitive sector of the food industry.  Having taken her brand from conception through to multiple and high profile listings, nationally and internationally, she understands your journey.
