Enabling Innovation: Internationalising British SMEs beyond Europe

British companies are facing increased levels of uncertainty. This is fuelled by not only the EU Brexit Referendum but also changing US trade policies. As a result, UK firms need to reassess their business partnerships and strive to establish new ones beyond Europe.

This FREE half-day workshop will enable SMEs to interact with academics from Nottingham Trent University and policy makers. This presents the opportunity to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in the global business environment.
Internationalising Content
Professor Pervez Ghauri is the keynote speaker for this event. Not only is he a Professor in International Business he is also the International Business Review’s Editor in Chief. Furthermore he is the Director of PhD Programmes at Birmingham Business School – and a Fellow of AIB and EIBA.  Professor Pervez Ghauri also sits on the EIBA board.
At the same time, the Department for International Trade (DIT) East Midlands will give an update on the UK’s current trade policies. This will be further complemented by academic researchers presenting recent research findings. There will also be a chance to hear from businesses about their international operations and strategies.

Enabling Innovation is a three-year collaboration between Nottingham Trent University, the University of Nottingham and the University of Derby. This programme supports SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to innovate. It is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
