Get in, go far with Apprenticeships

27 June, 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

This FREE event is for any business located in either Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire.  Your chance to discover the latest information on apprenticeship policy to support your business.  Furthermore, it will showcase world-class apprenticeship systems.  Ever wondered how they do it in Germany and Canada?  Moreover, see how apprenticeships can future-proof skills in your business and improve profitability.  Can you afford to miss it?

Who is it for?

This event is for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) either already recruiting into apprenticeships or considering doing so.  Equally, public bodies and apprenticeship providers delivering business support services and apprenticeship training to employers can hear the latest.  This will include both Apprenticeship Policy and creating a positive image for apprenticeships.  Senior managers and Careers Leads from schools can also hear the latest information on Apprenticeship Policy.  And discover the importance apprenticeships play in providing a viable post-16 opportunity for school leavers and supporting economic growth.

What’s included?

This event disseminates information from the Erasmus+ funded project: ‘Increasing SME Engagement in Apprenticeships’.  This will discuss not only the rationale behind the project but also what it has achieved.  Moreover,  the agenda has a much wider focus on apprenticeships with Canadian and German partners providing an international focus.  It will also include a national policy reform presentation and LEP input on where apprenticeships fit within the Skills Strategy.  We will also hear directly from SMEs and apprentices on their experiences.

Furthermore, a Skills Marketplace will form part of the event.  Apprenticeship and skills providers will also be on hand to talk to delegates during the breaks and the networking lunch.

Further information and registration

This FREE event will appeal to local small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), public bodies, schools and apprenticeship providers with an interest in apprenticeships.  And the benefits they can bring to business and wider society.

Indeed, the event has an international flavour with presenters from Germany and Canada talking about their apprenticeship systems and how they work with employers.  We will review the latest information on Apprenticeship Policy in England 12 months on from the apprenticeship reforms implemented on 1 May 2017.  And listen to what is next for SMEs and apprenticeships to help innovate by attracting new skills and future leaders to their workforce.

As part of the agenda, you will also learn about an  Erasmus+ funded business support programme delivered in Bulgaria, Poland and the UK to help remove barriers to SMEs recruiting into apprenticeships. In fact, you will hear directly from employers engaged in the programme about their experiences of apprenticeships and the benefits they have brought to their business.  We also want to hear from you on what is required for apprenticeships to work within your business.

There will also be a skills market place so you can speak directly with providers who can support your recruitment and training needs to future proof the skills in your business and increase productivity. In addition the event offers a great networking opportunity to meet other businesses.

Since this is a FREE information-packed event, interest is bound to be strong.  So don’t delay, register today.  Please also make us aware if you have any dietary or access requirements.
