New Roads to Japan – Forging better business links through the Toyota City-Derbyshire Partnership

What’s on offer?

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Toyota-Derbyshire Twinning activities.  As a result, this year’s JLGC seminar will focus on creating local business opportunities through international municipal twinning links.  In particular, the seminar will look at Derbyshire’s longstanding link with Toyota City, international strategies implemented by local authorities with Japan and the importance of UK local authorities forming long-term partnerships to support their local economies.

Who is it for?

Derbyshire County Council and Marketing Derby have organised this event for local businesses interested in both the Japanese market and Japanese inward investment trends into the UK.  Furthermore, it will also be of interest to professionals working within the wider East Midlands.  As well as the Japanese business community in London wanting to know more about economic trends in the region.

Furthermore, this event will take place in The Carriage Shop Theatre at Derby’s Roundhouse.  Moreover, the Japan Local Government Centre is organising this event.  In short, the JLGC is the London Office of the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR).

Indeed, CLAIR is a government-affiliated incorporated foundation.  In summary, it works to support the internationalisation efforts of local authorities in Japan through providing training opportunities, fostering people-to-people exchange with the JET Programme and other initiatives, supporting multiculturalism, and by carrying out research on their behalf.
