Managing innovative networks

4 April, 2017, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

This FREE event is part of the recently launched Enabling Innovation programme.  Because of this, it is open to all SMEs (Small to Medium Enterprises) across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.  Zara Whysall is an established academic at Nottingham Trent University (NTU).  In short, Zara will explain how to effectively manage and build networks to help your business grow and innovate.

Why attend?

It can often prove difficult to find like-minded individuals to bounce your ideas off.  You may also want to find peers with whom you can share both your stories of success and failure.  This workshop will explain the many benefits of business networking.

This event will also cover:

  • nurturing and growing your business network
  • understanding the networking process
  • and how to make and build valuable connections.

At the end of the day, much of the knowledge we use regularly is gained through other people.  For this reason, understanding networks is incredibly valuable.  In addition, it allows you to build relationships with people who are as passionate as you about business.

Introducing the presenter

Not only is Zara an esteemed academic, but she is also a consultant and Chartered Psychologist.  She specialises in translating academic research into practical insights for managers and employers.  This helps to address HR/L&D challenges such as talent management, leadership development, and high performing teams.

Am I eligible?

This event is free to attend but attendees must register in advance.  In order to attend, you must be eligible for support from the Enabling Innovation Programme.  This programme supports SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.  Find out more about the programme here.  Not sure if you qualify as an SME?  View the EU definition here.

Enabling Innovation is a three-year collaboration between Nottingham Trent University, the University of Nottingham, and the University of Derby to support SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to innovate. It is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
