Mansfield District Council: Developer Forum

1 February, 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Mansfield District Council logo

Mansfield District Council invites you once again to attend the new Developer Forum.  After its successful launch last October 2018, this is the second meeting.  This time, we’ll be focusing on VIABILITY.  We understand that the viability of schemes is one of the main reasons why sites stall, or that sites do not come forward.

Who is it for?

The Developer Forum provides developers, industry specialists and those with an interest in planning to receive a brief in-house update from officers in Regeneration, Development Management and Planning Policy.

What’s on offer?

Mansfield District Council formally invites you to our Developer Forum.  The forum is part of our proactive approach to improve the delivery of schemes with planning permission that have yet to be implemented and schemes that have yet to proceed.  And also to encourage new schemes to come forward.  In addition, the forum intends to create open and transparent channels of communication between developers and officers.  This, in turn, will improve our working relationship with you.  And also improve both the pre-application and planning application processes.

The forum will provide developers with relevant planning and regeneration in-house updates.  As well as valuable knowledge from guest speakers from industry professionals and government agencies.  Furthermore, at the end of the forum, there will be an opportunity for 1-2-1 discussions with a range of officers through informal networking.  This will include Planning Policy, Development Management and Regeneration officers.  Please note that we will not record these conversations due to commercial sensitivity.  Find out more.

Expert speaker

The Developer Forum’s guest speaker will be David Newham of CP Viability Ltd.  David is keen to explain and discuss the forthcoming changes to National Planning Policy and the implications this will have on delivery.

Growth Delivery Group

Developers can also formally request to attend and speak at a newly established Growth Delivery Group (GDG).  Senior officers (including the Chief Executive Officer), Elected Members and key delivery partners together make up the membership of the GDG.  The forum and GDG will take place 3 times a year.  With the GDG always following on from the forum.  Sign up now.

Further information and registration

If you have any questions about the Developer Forum, please don’t hesitate to contact Rebecca Raine.  If you’re interested in attending this Developer Forum, please book your place now.  Remember, as this is a regular meeting, even if you can’t make this one, there will be other opportunities throughout the year.

We will provide breakfast on the day. Please notify us directly if you have any specific dietary requirements.  We will provide vegetarian options as standard.  Free parking is also provided and it is expected that the meeting will last no longer than 1 hour 30 minutes.

As always there will be a networking opportunity both before and after the Developer Forum to discuss schemes, applications and any other issues with planning officers.  Not what you were looking for?  Then check out our online events calendar for more business events.
