Real Creative Futures: Business Model Masterclass – Workshop 1

In this two-day interactive masterclass, you’ll discover how tools, such as the business model canvas (to map and re-design your business model), can generate new ideas, customers and revenues.

Who is it for?

In short, this workshop is for SMEs and micro-businesses in the creative and digital sectors seeking to:

  • Improve their business model
  • Get to grips with new tools and techniques
  • Have a more holistic, visual and practical approach to strategy and planning

By getting to grips with the business model canvas – now used by over 5 million people world wide – exploring case studies and applying design thinking, you will:

  • Clarify your vision and how this drives your business model and strategy
  • Map and assess the strengths and weaknesses of your current business model
  • Generate ideas and opportunities for growth
  • Learn new skills and make new contacts

Expert speaker

Ellen O’Hara will lead this masterclass.  Ellen is a freelance business strategist, researcher, coach and facilitator working in the creative and cultural industries.  Indeed, she specialises in business model design, organisational development and access to finance.  Furthermore, she draws on a unique blend of experience from the private, public and third sectors spanning more than 15 years.  Ellen is a SFEDI accredited coach, Fellow of the RSA and Clore Leadership Fellow.

Real Creative Futures

RCF is a business support programme, aimed specifically at the creative and digital sectors.  Moreover, RCF uses  expertise and insight to help launch, innovate and grow creative enterprises.  Find out more.

The project nurtures entrepreneurs and SMEs with 12 hours of free tailored support, including coaching and one‐to‐one mentoring from experts and advisors who have real experience within the creative and digital industries.  Plus, networking, seminars and workshops are on offer throughout the year to help you build valuable relationships and develop your skills.

If you work in music, visual or performing arts, broadcasting, design, film, photography, architecture or publishing, online marketing and video, mobile applications design and web development, then you’re part of the city’s creative and digital industries.

To be eligible, you need to be working within the creative and/or digital industries, as either an established SME or entrepreneur eager to set a business up. Your business must have less than 250 employees and not have received more than 200,000 Euro in state funding.
