New businesses and people thinking of starting a new business are invited to attend a FREE seminar on the challenges they may face in collecting cash from their customers.

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum, developed by Ashfield and Mansfield Shared Regeneration Service, has organised a seminar led by Steve Savva on cash collection techniques and overcoming reasons for non-payment.  Steve, who is from Credit Management Training Limited, has been involved with credit management since leaving school and is one of the leading experts in the credit management profession.

Steve’s presentation will assist people to develop a range of skills, including:

  • Influencing customers to pay
  • Asking the right questions
  • Overcoming reasons for non-payment
  • Breaking negotiation deadlocks
  • Stressing the benefits of paying

The workshop will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday 7 November at The Summit Centre, Pavilion Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17 7LL. It will commence with a buffet tea and end with a networking session.

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum provides an opportunity for new businesses and people running or thinking of starting their own business to meet others in similar situations to share ideas and learn from each other, provide support and encourage inter-trading.  The forum also provides much-needed advice, support and information on a wide range of issues facing businesses as well as a one-to-one mentoring support programme.

Ella O’Connor, Regeneration Theme Lead for Employment and Skills in the Ashfield and Mansfield Shared Regeneration Service, said: “The seminars run by the Entrepreneurs’ Forum over the past year have provided the ideal opportunity for people, who have just started their own business or those thinking about starting a business, to meet and learn from other like-minded people in similar situations.”

Cllr Warren Nuttall for Regeneration, Community Wellbeing and Corporate Services at Ashfield District Council said: “The seminars have been an excellent forum for people to network, make new contacts and share best practice. They provide a positive and creative environment to help potential and new businesses to grow and I would strongly recommend them to anyone embarking on a business venture.”
