Important HS2 note to members from the DDRF

June 4, 2014 8:31 am

On 17 April Michelle Faulkner and David Taylor of the DDRF (Derby and Derbyshire Rail Forum) Executive Board attended a Supply Chain Engagement Event hosted by HS2 at the Roundhouse, Derby. The event covered all aspects of supply and was focused on both Infrastructure and Rolling stock.

It proved very interesting in particular how keen HS2 is to engage with the whole supply chain very early. This is not just for the large ‘Prime’ contractors but also for the SMEs.  HS2 is not looking at just Tier 1 suppliers but Tiers 2,3,4 and beyond.

The headline for SME members to note is HS2’s intention that the prime contractors, delivering HS2, will have a contractual requirement to engage with HS2 registered suppliers so it is very important to all members of the DDRF to take a short amount of time and ensure you are registered through CompeteFor.

The HS2 development has real potential to bring a multitude of supply chain opportunities to Ashfield and Mansfield due to the area’s skilled workforce.  To ensure your business doesn’t miss out, register on the CompeteFor website or contact the HS2 Supply Chain team directly.
