Ashfield MipimUK

Earlier this year Invest Ashfield & Mansfield launched a monthly feature in the CHAD to let businesses across Ashfield and Mansfield know all about the useful and important work being delivered through this project.  Here’s the latest CHAD update for November:

Invest Ashfield & Mansfield recently promoted our area to more than 4,000 professionals at the largest national property show, MIPIM UK.  Our team of AMbassadors, Council officers, Councillors and local businesses, A-Star Media and Lindhurst Engineering, provided shining examples of success and opportunity to employers, investment managers and property agents.

Cllr Jim Aspinall, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration at Ashfield District Council, said: “Being here is about bringing jobs to Ashfield and Mansfield. This show is where UK towns and cities compete for those large employers looking to expand or relocate their businesses. Unless we are here showing what Ashfield and Mansfield can do for them, we’ll always lose out to the other towns and cities who maintain their presence here.”

Cllr Kate Allsop, Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration at Mansfield District Council, said: “This has been a wonderful few days. We’ve made really important contacts with people who talk to employers of all shapes and sizes. We are now in a position to develop those relationships so that we can attract more employers to this area and the jobs they bring as a result.”

Martin Rigley, of Lindhurst Engineering, added: “Our business does well here because it’s cost-effective, our staff are loyal and hard-working and we are really well-located to reach customers across the UK. It makes us competitive and means we can continue to grow.”

On Thursday 6 November Invest Ashfield & Mansfield will be attending the East Midlands Property Show in Nottingham. To complement our stand we will be hosting a specialist, pre-registration seminar covering regional property trends, D2N2’s strategic economic plans, Ashfield and Mansfield property opportunities and new research on why businesses relocate.

Lindsey Newman-Wood will also discuss Marketing with a passion at our next Entrepreneurs’ Forum on Thursday 6 November. Full of practical marketing tips, this free event will be held at the Summit Centre, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and will run from 5.30pm-8pm. Places are limited so pre-registration is recommended.

Invest Ashfield & Mansfield (funded by Ashfield and Mansfield District Councils and the European Regional Development Fund) provides several free and confidential services including business events, property searches, business surveys, relocation advice and information.
