Mansfield District Council is supporting the expansion of a Mansfield training venture which will help young people gain vital new skills.  ITS College, part of registered charity ITS Group, has moved into larger premises at Chaucer House, off Commercial Street.  In short, this has enabled the company to double the number of students enrolled on a variety of courses and training programmes throughout the year.

Start-up and Growth grants

In total, the council has awarded ITS Group two grants.  Firstly, a start-up grant of £1,000 last year, when it first opened a Mansfield branch.  And finally, a growth grant of £4,000 in September this year.  This later grant will help the enterprise’s marketing.  In fat, this included helping to provide marketing training for its new team, when it moved to larger premises.

Positive comments

Dr Chris Payne is ITS Group’s Chief Executive.  He said: “It’s a pleasure to be in Mansfield, my hometown, supporting both young people to start their career and local employers develop their organisations.

“We are delighted with the support provided by Mansfield District Council, both with grants and, more importantly, their advice and guidance.  We look forward to creating a bright future for local young people and continuing to work with the council.”

Cllr Mick Barton is Deputy Mayor of Mansfield.  Cllr Barton said: “It’s great that there are now more training and education opportunities in Mansfield, thanks to ITS Group.

“It is a crucial part of the council’s overall regeneration vision to improve residents’  educational attainments.  The district needs more people with higher skills levels in order to help build and protect the district’s future economic prosperity.”
