Jobs and training event for those affected by Leaderflush Shapland closure

January 14, 2016 10:25 am

You may have learned through the local media recently of the Leaderflush Shapland closure – a door and frame manufacturer with operations in Langley Mill and Mansfield – resulting in over 400 job losses.

District and County Councils are working closely with our partners from DWP and a host of support organisations in order to help those affected  by the recent closure at Leaderflush Shapland get back into employment as quickly as possible.

To that end we are organising a Jobs and Training event at Alfreton Leisure Centre on Friday 29th January, 10.00 am – 3.00 pm aimed at providing employment opportunities for the former employees to be put directly in touch with local employers with vacancies, recruitment specialists, training providers and organisations who can provide practical employment support and guidance.

Many of those people affected have long term employment track records and are very skilled in a range of career pathways including IT, administration, payroll, finance/accounts, HR, customer services, estimating, sales and marketing, manufacturing, procurement, security, fork lift truck operations, engineering and joinery.

If your organisation would like to be directly involved with a free stand on the day, please contact Carol Parkin, CAROL.PARKIN@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK  directly to register your place.  Alternatively if you know of any other organisations that could benefit from attending, please pass on this communication to them.
