Kirkby Town Centre – Last Chance to Have Your Say

April 15, 2013 9:53 am

After a month of gathering the views of local residents, the Kirkby Town Centre Consultation will be ending this week.

 Kirkby Square - artist view

Over the past four weeks, Ashfield District Council has been asking the public what they think of plans for a new public space within the town centre.  The detailed plans have been drawn up by the Council’s Landscape Team, following a student design competition which was held last year.

The plans will provide a new town square with terraced seating and creating a focal area for events and community activities and incorporate artworks which will be produced working with local schools.  There will be a final consultation event taking place this Friday, 19th April at the marketplace in Kirkby-in-Ashfield from 9am till 1pm.
