Linda Murray – Women Who Do

April 9, 2014 9:55 am

Linda Murray’s new career boosted by the Women Who Do programme.

Linda began her career as an Accountant leading a very busy life working and studying.  After completing her qualifications in 2004 she found that she suddenly had some spare time and decided to pursue a massage course purely for pleasure.   However, Linda discovered she had a hidden talent and was thoroughly enjoying the experience and spent the next few years becoming more and more interested in holistic and complementary therapies and following more courses including Aromatherapy.  The recession bit hard in 2010 and Linda was made redundant from her Accountancy position; this gave her the perfect opportunity to commit herself fully to running her own business.

Getting involved with the Women Who Do Programme

Linda received an email through her well connected networks regarding the Women Who Do programme of support.  She attended the launch in June 2013, enrolled on the workshops and is now taking advantage of the one to one mentoring support.

Linda has benefited personally from the workshops which have helped her to reinforce her self-belief in her abilities and the mentoring support has benefited the business by giving her the nudge she needed to create policies and procedures that will also help her to identify where business improvements can be made.   It has also provided an excellent sounding board for new ideas such as loyalty schemes and referral policies as well as useful general advice.

Plans for the Future

Linda is constantly updating her knowledge and skills in order to develop new areas of the business.   She has firm plans for the future which include the introduction of new massage therapy techniques.  Linda is already qualified to provide a wide range of training that she delivers in a range of settings, but is always looking to widen her skills base and to take advantage of support available to help her.  She also has plans to develop aspects of the business through sales of organic products and home parties.
