Ashfield and Mansfield Town Centres

Each town has its own unique character, with Mansfield being the largest town followed by Sutton-in-Ashfield.  Both enjoy a mix of high street multiples, in-town shopping centres and out-of-town complexes, complemented by a number of independent retailers.

Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Mansfield Woodhouse and Warsop are primarily shopping and service areas for the people who live there, whilst Hucknall not only enjoys its own identity but also has the added advantage of being linked to the nearby city of Nottingham by a tram service.

Mansfield town centre was awarded the prestigious Purple Flag award last year after a team involving representatives from Mansfield Association of Licensed Venues (MALV), Mansfield BID, Mansfield District Council, Mansfield Partnership Against Crime (MPAC) and the police was set up.

Having a Purple Flag status will be of huge benefit to Mansfield; physical improvements have already been made, changes have been made to policing and projects introduced to increase safety and confidence.

The positive publicity and increased visitors that are expected to result will help create jobs and an increased vibrancy about town.

Across Ashfield & Mansfield our town centres remain a priority as we recognise their significant role in realising growth and quality of life aspirations.  They also provide recognisable destinations for local people, visitors and investors by ensuring they represent the right balance of offer and choice within a quality environment, guided by physical masterplans.

In Warsop there are plans to develop an employment area, in Kirkby-in-Ashfield a Civic Square and improvements to the road network in and around the town centre in Hucknall.

Ashfield & Mansfield has recently been identified as one of the 64 cities in England and the future economic success of the area is reliant on maintaining and enhancing its role as a small city and sub-regional centre.

Given the variety of activities located here, the attractiveness of the area and its town centres are assured.  We are always eager to work with new and existing businesses and investors.  If you would like to find out more, please contact us.
