Invest Ashfield & Mansfield - The area for growth

As we approach 2019, there’s definitely a few changes in the air.  Let’s start off the New Year on a positive note: there’s lots of funding out there.  So why not take full advantage and see how your business could benefit?  Read on to find a little bit more about what’s currently available.

LEADER grants

Here’s the first bit of good news.  The LEADER grant deadline has been extended to 31 January 2019.
Micro and small businesses in South Nottinghamshire can apply for grants of up to £170,000.  Eligible projects support the rural economy and new jobs. Funding through the South Nottinghamshire LEADER programme is available for schemes in the Selston area of Ashfield.  Find out more about the LEADER funding scheme online or contact Craig Edson, LEADER Programme Officer, on 0115 977 2686.

Our grants

What’s more, we have recently restructured our own grants to make sure that the money we have goes further.  This means that businesses can now apply for up to £2,500.  We have a variety of different grants available, including a business start-up grant, business growth grant and a range of grants supporting retail businesses.  Find out more.

MEIF debt & equity finance

The Midlands Engine Investment Fund provides debt and equity finance between £25k and £2m to growing businesses across the Midlands.  In fact, local manufacturer Proskins, in Mansfield Woodhouse were recently awarded £250k.  Read their story to be inspired.

In addition, on 7 February, there is a FREE event at Mansfield I-centre running between 9am and 12:30pm.  This will not only provide further detail on the funding available but there will also be slots for individual discussions.  Of course, you need to pre-book these one-to-one appointments.  Find out more and secure your place.  A couple of our team will also be there, so why not take the opportunity to talk to them about our grants too?

HMRC – grants for customs

HMRC has recently opened the grant scheme in order to help support training and IT improvements for customs intermediaries and traders that complete customs declarations.   This is in recognition of Brexit and the possibility of a no deal scenario.  Find out further information, including details of the application process.

Other sources are available

Of course, this isn’t an exhaustive list but if you visit our grants page, there’s more information there on other sources and links to further information and online tools.
