Invest Ashfield & Mansfield - The area for growth

If you’ve never visited our online events calendar, then why not have a sneaky peek?  Aided and abetted by Santa and his ever-helpful elves, we’ve been busily updating January’s listings.  So we hope you’ll agree that it’s pretty comprehensive.  But please let us know if there’s something we’ve missed.

Starting out?

If you’re contemplating setting up your own business, then you won’t want to miss NBV’s starting in business programme.  Running over three days, this FREE course provides you with all you need to know about successfully starting a business.  It runs in Mansfield, at the I-centre, on 21,22 and 29 January.  But if you can’t make this, don’t worry, it also runs regularly in a number of locations across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and even further afield.  Find out more.

Indeed, if your business is going to be in the creative or digital sector, then check out the business start-up success series.  Running over a 4-week period on consecutive Tuesdays, the Big House host these FREE evening events in Nottingham.  There’s a different topic each week, working through the fundamentals of a successful start-up.  And the first session is on 15 January.  Find out more.

Digital skills

The Digital Growth Programme (DGP) runs a regular series of events to help you get to grips with all sorts of things in the digital age.  There are events about pretty much everything, including email marketing, web content, using video, social media… even international trade.  And, what’s more, they are all completely FREE to attend.  Find out more and get on board.

Local events at Mansfield I-centre

In addition to NBV’s starting in business course, the I-centre is also hosting a legal drop-in session on 17 January.  This is a FREE opportunity to benefit from Nottingham Trent University’s extensive legal expertise with 30-minute slots available between 10am and 1pm.  Find out more and book your place.

Furthermore, if you’re looking for funding, there’s a FREE event all about debt and equity finance through the MEIF.  Or, in other words, the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.  Read about how one local firm has already benefited.  In addition to providing more information, one-to-one slots are also available.  The event itself is on 7 February, running from 9-12:30pm.  Find out more.

Brexit events

As the year progresses, there’s bound to be more and more events on this subject.  The Chamber are running a number about customs, immigration and tax in January.  Find out more.  Indeed we are currently working with partners to host an event within Ashfield & Mansfield.  Of course, we will send an update to all our subscribers once the details are finalised.

And finally…

A very Happy Christmas and New Year to all our readers.  We hope that your Christmas break proves both restful and rewarding.  And we’ll see you again in January.
