Make some New Year’s business events resolutions

January 10, 2017 12:52 pm

It’s that time of year again, where we are all back to work and full of good intentions.  You may have committed to being more healthy, taking up a new hobby or even catching up with old friends.  But what about work?  Is it time to do something a little different and attend some events?

What about networking?

Is it time to get out and about and make new contacts?  There are many networking groups across Ashfield and Mansfield.  You can find most of these listed on our website.  Ashfield & Mansfield 2020 is the biggest, which meets the last Thursday of every month at Portland Training College.  Find out more about the January and February meetings on our events calendar.

If you are looking for something a little more informal, you might want to try the Mansfield Means Business breakfast networking meetings.  These free sessions take place every second Tuesday of every month.  Find out more about the MMB February and March meetings here.

In fact, if you really want to promote your business, why not sponsor a 2020 meeting or deliver the presentation at MMB?  All these meetings are now on our events calendar so take a quick look and pop a few in your calendar.

Ready for a spot of learning?

Whether you are looking for a short introduction to a new topic or something more in-depth, there are some interesting sessions coming up at the new University Centre at Vision West Nottinghamshire College.  These are a mixture of short insight breakfast sessions (8-10, with breakfast and networking from 7:30) and full-day (10-4) masterclasses.

What’s more, for local businesses they are completely free as they are part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).  The first of the Insight breakfast sessions was on Wednesday 18 January.  Not only did this prove a useful insight into one entrepreneur’s successful journey, it also provided an opportunity to find out how Nottingham Trent University (NTU) could benefit your business.  Find out more about NTU’s Enabling Innovation programme.

The next insight breakfast is on Wednesday 15 March, entitled the Agility Model.  Delivered by Mark Shaw, this is subtitled Steps to Success – where are you now?  You can find more information on this session and how to book here.

The insight breakfasts run every month until October and the masterclasses will run monthly from May.  Spanning a range of business topics, including sales and marketing, exporting and finance, all sessions feature on our events calendar.
