NCC: Nottinghamshire digital enhancement programme (DEP) urgent deadline

May 18, 2017 2:29 pm

Nottinghamshire County Council is providing an opportunity for six local businesses to increase their online visibility and effectiveness.   In short, this will be achieved through the development of a bespoke Digital Strategy supported by a Digital Trainee.

Who is it for?

In short, any kind of business can apply.  As long as you can provide the work placement and supervision for your trainee for up to 3 days/week.  Of course, you’ll also need to have the potential to grow your business through an enhanced online presence.

In fact, the DEP programme is open to all Nottinghamshire based businesses who can:

  • Provide a work placement for a trainee aged 16+ for up to three days per week
  • Have the potential to grow their business through an enhanced online presence.

Why is it important?

This innovative 6-month programme aims to give 6 Nottinghamshire-based SMEs the winning edge by increasing each business’s web presence.  Nowadays, having an online presence is a vital requirement for many businesses.  However, not all firms have either the necessary resources or the detailed knowledge required.

In brief, the benefits of taking part in the DEP programme are:

  • A more visible presence in the marketplace
  • Maximising your web presence with a more user-friendly website
  • A digital strategy tailored to your business’s needs and potential
  • An additional member of staff for up to 6 months to carry out the digital enhancements
  • An opportunity to grow and expand your business
  • Increased customer numbers and sales
  • Improved flexibility and diversification
  • An opportunity to create a longer term job or apprenticeship

How does it work?

This programme is funded by Nottinghamshire County Council and delivered by Dijitul Enterprise, an award-winning web design and digital marketing agency.  Its aim is to provide each engaged company with a bespoke digital strategy together with a trainee to carry it out.

The young person will be 16+ and will undergo a 6-month traineeship following a training programme tailored to your business.   Furthermore, they will be supported by intense digital training via a series of workshops and one-to-ones in the workplace.  They will be paid a training bursary through the project.  And they will also receive a full induction and preparatory training before joining the business.

Working in partnership with an industry expert, each engaged business will have access to a wealth of knowledge and have their bespoke digital strategy implemented.

What does the business need to contribute?

All we ask from the employer is:

  • A contribution of up to £500 over the six month placement – a small investment for a fantastic potential return
  • Host the trainee placement for the duration of the programme
  • Work with us to look at the potential to create an apprenticeship position after the programme to continue to develop your business

Urgent deadline

If all this sounds interesting and you would like to apply, download the application form or contact Dave at Dijitul.  However, please note that the deadline for applications is 19 May 2017.
