New support available to help employers to recruit graduates

Graduates can bring new energy and new thinking to businesses together with a lively mind and enthusiasm. Yet many businesses don’t actively seek out graduates either because they are unsure how to connect with the graduate pool or they think that it will be a time consuming process to find the right person.

That’s why the two Nottingham universities, Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council are coming together to create a ‘city graduate scheme’ that will give small businesses in and around the city and county easy access to outstanding graduate talent. The programme is aimed at those companies who don’t already routinely employ graduates so it is open to companies who have no employees who have graduated in the last 18 months.

It will provide companies with a corporate standard graduate attraction and selection process, including video interviews and assessment centres to find the best people – at no cost to the company.

The message is

“If you have been considering recruiting graduates, or found it difficult in the past, then this scheme could be for you and your business.”
