Got a business idea you want to develop? Would £3,000 help get your business idea off the ground? If your answer is yes to the above then you may want to consider applying for funding from Nottinghamshire’s High Sheriff’s Dragons’ Den.

The High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire Dr Jas Bilkhu and Turning Point Investments are inviting applications from budding entrepreneurs to apply for a grant to support their business development activities.

Turning Point Investments is a partnership of local business people that makes investments in local companies and they are keen to sponsor the 8th Den organised by Nottinghamshire Community Foundation. The Den will bring together six local ‘Business Dragons’ who will award successful enterprise ideas a grant of up to £3000, plus potential investment, to support the winning entrepreneurs’ business development plans.  The ‘Business Dragons’ include:

• Ashley Cooper – Turning Point Investments

• Dr Nik Kotecha – Morningside Pharmaceuticals

• Richard Henshell – Strelley Hall

• Mark Doleman – Deloitte UK

• Mike Sassi – The Nottingham Post

To be considered for a grant, applicants need to be a resident of Nottingham city or county, be able to submit a realistic business plan and have a great enterprise idea.  To find out more visit www.nottscf.org.uk/grants/dragons-den.

All applications must be submitted by 9.30am on September 7th 2015.  Short listed applicants will be invited to present their ideas to the Business Dragons at The St James Place Hotel in Nottingham on Thursday September 24th 2015.

Dr Jas Bilkhu, The High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, commenting on this Enterprise initiative, said, “I am keen in my year of office to support new business and to give people with good ideas a helping hand where I can. My aim is to encourage innovation and entrepreneurial spirit within the county. We all need help and support in bringing new ideas to fruition and these awards are a great way to give a boost to the morale of budding entrepreneurs. I wish everyone good luck with their presentations and look forward to following up the success of our winners.”
