Ollie Hynd, Ashfield’s London 2012 Paralympic Star showed his support to participants who took part in the Active Ashfield Tri 1 2 3 to raise funds for OASIS (Olympians from Ashfield Support In Sport).

Ollie started off the Tri 1 challenge, in which participants covered a mile run/walk or wheelchair course. Some continued the challenge by taking part in the Tri 2, cycling five miles around the Ashfield School athletics track.

Over 50 participants, mainly from Sutton Swimming Club, also went on to support the charity for the Tri 3 swim challenge of completing a mile in the Lammas Leisure Centre pool.

The finale to the event included two relay teams from Sutton Swimming Club completing as many lengths as they could in a 50 minute time challenge.  For each length of the relay 25p was donated to OASIS and the club will have raised around £400 towards the cause once all sponsorship is collected.

Ollie Hynd said, “I cannot thank OASIS enough for the support they have given me. It is great that so many people have turned out today for all three challenges to raise funds for our future Olympians and Paralympians and what a fantastic finish to the day for me, coming back to Sutton Swimming Club which is where my swimming career first began.”
